About Us

James Shoemark is the founder of Holyrood Coaching and is a professionally qualified Coach accredited by the International Coaching Federation. His clients have included entrepreneurs, people who have been made redundant and single parents.

James cares passionately about helping other people to help themselves. He decided to create Holyrood Coaching because he understands that Coaching is one of the most powerful ways in which people can dramatically improve themselves and their circumstances. His style of coaching is encouraging, inspiring and challenging.

Some of James’s strengths as a Coach come from the fourteen years experience he has gained in working with many different types of people in many different environments. This has varied from persuading unemployed adults to abseil down sheer cliff faces in the Highlands of Scotland, sheltering children in the forests of Connecticut during its worst Tornado disaster, coaching teenagers in motocross riding, supporting homeless people develop their literacy skills, to nine years serving as a Director on various charitable boards.

James started his first business importing motorcycles from Los Angeles in 1987 and has been running a property maintenance business for the past four years. He has more than 14 years of experience working with individuals and groups as a Community Education practitioner. In that time, he gained a degree from Edinburgh University in Community Education and has six years' experience of managing charity projects and teams. He has been a Director with the homelessness charity HOPE Worldwide UK for six years and has been fundraising for a school in Bhuj, India that provides free education to over 350 children for over four years.

James is married with two children, his favourite movie is "Les visiteurs" and he is afraid of sharks.
